Tue – New grading system review: 5=A, 4=B, 3=C, 2=D, 1=do over. So far graded item this marking period (5th) are
- To Build a Fire – 2 column notes
- Questions #1-8 done in class for review
- Fire test. Today- Fire Test
Wed – Library – exchange books and take AR tests. Readers Handbook – read Comparing and Contrasting. 383-388. Do a compare and contrast chart using Scrooge and the Grinch.
Thursday – Bring book to class. Book review.

A Journey to the Center of the Earth
By: Jules Verne
This is a fantastic book if you like adventure and discovery. A boy and his uncle travel to the center of the Earth which no man has ever done!! Will they make it, or will they die from a lack of water and supplies?
A boy named Henry sees his father come running in the house. He finds a scroll with mysterious writing. Henry deciphers it and tells him. They soon take off to an unknown world to an ancient volcano with there guide named Hans.
While into the Earth, They find a huge, underground waterway, giant chunks of gold, and a huge Mediterranean sea. At the end, they were shot out of a volcano. Henry, his uncle and the guide all went to town. Hans left and Henry and Von went home and became more rich that they ever were.
