Island: book one: shipwreck
By: Gordon Korman
The book I read was Island; book one: shipwreck. It was about 5 kids named Luke, Will, Lyssa, J.J., Ian, and Charla. They are on a cruise ship traveling. It’s a month long trip by they company called Charting a New Course. The reason they are on the cruise ship is for discipline not for recreation. Then later in the book, a humongous storm hits the pacific waters. They didn’t like each other but they decide to work together because there lives are at stake. They find an island near by; they swim there and make something of the island so they can stay alive.
I thought this was a very interesting book I really enjoyed it. It is a series of three books and I encourage people to read the whole series because it just keeps getting better. Read it!

Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories
The book I chose to write my review on is called Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories. In this book a kid named Sora, along with his friends Donald Duck and Goofy are looking for Sora’s friends Riku and Kiri. Sora, Donald, and Goofy go into a castle and meet this guy who tells them that to find is to lose and to lose is to find. He says that while in this castle you will lose your memory. While in the castle they go into different worlds that they have already been to, but their friends don’t remember them. In the castle they also encounter enemies and make new friends. I would do the same thing that Sora does and not change anything that he does. I liked these books because they have a lot of Disney characters and a lot of adventure and excitement.

The Last Dog on Earth
Logan is a boy that hates everyone. He has a father who abandoned him and he has a stepfather that is stuck up and controls him. He keeps saying that he is going to send Logan to an all boys camp so he can learn manners.
Jack is a dog that has no mother because of a disease that is spreading the country and killing the dogs. Jack is dog that keeps to himself. Jack and Logan are a lot alike that’s why Logan adopts Jack.
Jack becomes Logan’s only friend and Logan is Jacks only friend. One day Logan and Jack decide to run away because no one else wants them. On the travel they both face many difficulties and they face all of there problems.
I recommend this book for dog lovers or even kids going a rough time and have no one else as a friend. I loved this book and would read it ten more times by choice.

Zeely
By: Virginia Hamilton
This is about this little girl named Zeely. Her and her little both went to there Uncle farm house. Zeely and her brother help her Uncle out on the farm. When they first got there they say the house and look around it and they found the pump that pump fresh water up to them. That first day they stay there and just use the pump and drink fresh water. Even when they ate dinner they didn’t get water from the sink they went and got it from the pump. They meet a girl name Elizabeth and they was great friends. But she wonted to find out what she really was like.
Opinion
I really like this book it show how much fun you can have on a farm and that you can always do know things new that you may thought that you may never do. And it show that fun don’t mean you have to be with you friends you also can help out and still have it and on a farm it kind of hard but they found it anyway.

Anastasia on her own
Anastasia Krupnik has an unbalanced family. Her mother is always late on dinner and her father always is late for everything. They decide to make a schedule that is nonsexist that fits into all of their schedules, but Mrs.Krupnik goes to California on a business trip. Then her brother comes down with chickenpox. And her dad brings his girlfriend over for dinner. Everything is going wrong and plus her crush doesn’t even know she exists. She’s keeping order in the house, but it’s tuff work with her homework, taking care of her brother, and her friends.
I wouldn’t want to be Anastasia, because she’s juggling everything plus more. She had test to study for, drama with her friends and her poor little brother she has to take care of. I would probably lose my head if I was in the same situation as her. I would be very stressed and it’s to many things to worry about if my mom went away for 2 months.
I think Anastasia is a nice person who trys to be nice to everyone she meets. She isn’t good under pressure, but when she sets her mind to what she needs to get done and straightened out she does it. In the beginning she flips out about her crazy life, but then as the story unravels she becomes sweeter and more organized.

Book Review # 6
The Clique
By: Lisi Harrison
The Clique is about five seventh graders: Massie Block, Dylan Marvil, Alicia Rivera, Kristen Gregory, and Claire Lyons. Massie, Dylan, Alicia, and Kristen, have been friends since Kindergarten and they do everything together. They all come from wealthy families and are used to luxury and material things. Claire, on the other hand, is from a small town in Florida. Her parents were great friends with Massie’s parents in college and Claire’s father got a new job in Westchester, where Massie lives. Since Claire’s family doesn’t have a house, they were invited to stay in Massie’s guesthouse until they get on there feet.
Massie isn’t very excited about the Lyons family moving in and she acts very snobby to Claire. Massie even made Claire sit in the “trunk” area of her parents’ Range Rover while her friends sat in the other seats. She told Claire that it would be rude to try and squeeze her in when her friends are used to just them.
The other girls:
Dylan: Basically Massie’s follower and she divides her time on sucking up to Massie and sucking down Atkins diet shakes.
Alicia: As sly as devious as she is beautiful, Alicia floats easily under the adult radar because she seems so “sweet”. She would love to take over Massie’s popularity “throne” one day, and just might.
Last but not least, Kristen: She’s smart, hardworking, and insult you to tears faster than a blink of an eye.
The clique is a great book about how girls really are: sneaky, catty, and it shows how the privileged treat the unprivileged.

Book Review
The setting of the book Hostile Hospital is partly in a general store, and mostly in a half-built hospital. The characters are Violet, Klaus, Sunny, and Count Olaf. The plot is that the three kids have to try and escape from the police, because they are believed to be murderers, and hide in a volunteer van, headed toward a hospital. Find out what happens next, and why the three children are believed to be murderers by reading Hostile Hospital by Lemony Snicket. In the story my favorite character is Klaus, because he’s the smartest out of him and his two sisters and comes up with amazing and creative ways to escape the clutches of Count Olaf. Klaus is about five and a half feet tall, short black hair and wears glasses. He loves to read and his favorite place in the world is to be is in a library full of interesting books. Klaus is always thinking of ways to escape from Count Olaf, and his sister Violet helps him by inventing helpful tools and mechanisms. I wouldn’t want to be a character in this book because Klaus, Violet, and Sunny are always get into trouble when they didn’t do anything wrong, and are always being sent to a new foster home, which in some way leads to Count Olaf almost catching them, and then they just barely get away. But if I absolutely had to be a character in this book, I would be a caretaker for the children, because they seem like delightful kids to have around.

Eclipse
Stephenie Meyer
Bella wants to be with Edward forever. The price she has to pay? She has to become a vampire. This requires three days of excruciating pain as the venom of a vampire bite moves through her system, hardens her skin, and makes her cold. She wants it more than anything. She doesn’t want to become old as Edward continues his life at seventeen forever. She’s willing to brave all she has for this, for him, but there’s a problem. Edward wants the opposite.
Edward doesn’t want to see her in the pain that the change will cause. He doesn’t want her cold and hard and always suffering from the thirst that being a vampire brings. But he is misunderstanding why she wants this. He thinks that she is eager to become a vampire just to be a vampire. Of course, Edward thinks he’s a very selfish creature. But he’s not at all. Bella is doing this for him, to be with him always and for the rest of eternity. He wants her to be with him forever, too, but he doesn’t want to be selfish; and he doesn’t know if he could bite her without killing her.
Bella thinks he’s completely insane. She will leave her friends and family for him. But this is the least of her problems. She is near graduation and the lover of the vampire named James in Twilight, Victoria, is out for revenge. Since Edward killed James, Victoria wants to kill Bella. The vampires and werewolves (arch enemies) are now working together to hunt her down. They team up and are prepared for the war between the newborn vampires and the Cullens and werewolves. Jasper Cullen (Edward’s “brother”) is training them on how to attack the newborns.
Then there’s another problem. Jacob, Bella’s best friend and werewolf, fell for her. He is in love with Bella. Edward and Jacob are ready to fight and always on their guard around each other and Bella can’t stand it. They hate each other but they both love her. Bella is forced to choose between them, but what if she loves them both back? What if Victoria is more skilled then they thought? What if this is a situation of life and death in every way possible?
If I had to choose a character of course I’d be Bella! She’s got Edward; a gorgeous vampire. I would definitely handle all of those situations, no matter how frightening or difficult. There is no way I’d be any other character! I would choose Edward because I like him better than Jacob and I’d already have my life planned out (becoming a vampire). Besides, all of the Cullens are unique and different and it would be so much fun to live with them.
Almost everybody knows I’m completely obsessed with this book. I even have the bracelet Bella wears in Eclipse! I think Stephenie Meyer was trying to tell about how difficult some decisions can be, but you need to try to make the better choice. Any teenage girl should read this because I guarantee they’d love it!
